Finnish cup Tampere

Last weekend the first event of this year's Finnish cup was held in Tampere. It included both qualifications and finals. There were eight qualification routes for women and ,I suppose, nine for men. At the same time there was also a separate open competition with a lot more routes and a bigger variety of grades. The open series had no finals.

I participated in the Finnish cup. The qualification went fairly well. I topped all eight routes and it took me ten tries, which means that I failed to flash two of the routes. It didn't bother me much back then, cause I thought that two tries in the qualifications wouldn't affect my final placement in the competition.

When it was my time to climb in the finals I felt very shaky at first, as if all of my energy was left in the isolation zone. The routes were quite easy, though, and I flashed all of them. Eevi also flashed all final routes and since she had two tries less than me in the qualification, she was the winner. At least now I know that every try is crucial in a competition like this. Also the men's competition was extremely tight since three men topped all final routes. Ilari finished third : )

When the competition was over I looked forward to get home but then a woman told me that I had to be tested for doping first :( It was just a urine test but there were a lot of papers to fill in and it took quite a long time to get it done. I really hope that this was the last time...
